Recipes: Georgetown Cupcake Chocolate Cupcakes & Frosting

I've been looking for their recipes for quite some time now but mostly I failed. I feel dumb though, because they can't actually just post their cupcake recipes in the internet. But when I found this post. I really feel excited ti try these. Even though I think that it's not exactly the same with the cupcakes they sell but at least the recipe came from them. :) Plus They also share a frosting and 10 different ways on change the flavor of one frosting recipe. Cool! Here's the recipe I found.

Georgetown Cupcake Chocolate Cupcakes
Makes 1 dozen cupcakes

Ingredients:
For the cupcakes
  • 1 1/4 cups flour, sifted
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, sifted
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 8 tablespoons (4 ounces) European-style unsalted butter at room temperature
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons vanilla extract, preferably Madagascar bourbon
  • 1 cup whole milk, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup Valrhona cocoa powder, sifted

Directions:
For the cupcakes: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a standard cupcake pan with 12 baking cups, and a second pan with 6 baking cups.

Sift together the flour, baking soda and salt on a sheet of wax paper or parchment paper.
Place the butter in the bowl of a stand mixer or hand-held electric mixer. Beat on medium speed until fluffy. Stop to add the sugar; beat on medium speed until well incorporated.
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing slowly after each addition.

Combine the vanilla extract and milk in a large liquid measuring cup.

Reduce the speed to low. Add one-third of the flour mixture to the butter mixture, then gradually add one-third of the milk mixture, beating until well incorporated. Add another one-third of the flour mixture, followed by one-third of the milk mixture. Stop to scrape down the bowl as needed. Add the remaining flour mixture, followed by the remaining milk mixture, and beat just until combined.

Add the cocoa powder, beating (on low speed) just until incorporated.
Use a standard-size ice cream scoop to fill each cupcake paper with batter, so that the wells are two-thirds full. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes (start checking at 15 minutes) or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean. Transfer the pan to a wire rack to cool completely.

DC Cupcakes.

By this time of the day I was supposedly be busy doing anything. I mean, I get sleepy around 3:00 am and now it's just 1:25 am. (I'm nocturnal. That's the downside of being a Bum.) And I can't think of anything to do. I was suppose to watch the last two episodes of The Vampire Diaries Season two but I have this feeling that I don't wanna see Stefan leave Elena and Damon would be with Elena. This love triangle thing makes me feel heartbroken. Anyways, I watched Cupcake wars instead. It was my first time to watch that series and I can say that its not as good as Dc Cupcakes. I know they have different concepts but still Dc Cupcakes captured my heart and in every episode it never fails to make my mouth water with all those cupcakes they bake.

See what I mean? The cupcake alone looks good. I bet it tastes good too. :)

and now with the frosting. They really look heavenly. I would kill to taste those cupcakes.

Here are some of my favorite Georgetown Cupcakes. I know I have never tasted them, but they say "We eat with our eyes first."

The first time I saw this cupcake was when Katherine and Sophie is having their bake-off. I guess its Fire House Episode. Katherine made this cupcake while Sophie made I think it;s smores cupcake. It's a fresh banana cupcake with a fudge core topped with vanilla cream cheese frosting, a fudge drizzle, hazelnuts, rainbow bobbles and a maraschino cherry. It's just like the real banana split.

Who doesn't love a red velvet cupcake? It's a classic red velvet cupcake with vanilla cream cheese frosting topped with red fondant heart.

I never realize that blueberry cheesecake can be a cupcake. So when I saw this, I just can't help but wonder what it would taste like. And base on what I have read in other blogs, It taste delicious.

The owners of Georgetown Cupcake. Katherine and Sophie. These girls bailed their corporate jobs to follow their dreams. I want to be just like them. Unfortunately, my none of my sister is into baking so I guess I'm on my own.

Hey look! it's almost 2:30 am. It's time for me to sleep. Goodnight! :)
